Why Guinot Longue vie yeux has become a ‘must have’ in my skincare routine!

I have to admit that I have never really been an eye cream user. I have occasionally dipped in and out of a few over the years, tried them for a week or so, not really seen a difference so then stopped using them.

I noticed towards the end of the summer, that the area around my eyes was starting to look a little different. Fine lines and wrinkles that hadn’t been noticeable before were now visible. I wondered at that point if it was time for me to introduce an eye cream into my routine but life was busy so that thought got shelved and I didn’t do anything about it.

A few weeks later, I had the absolute pleasure of going on a little trip down to Guinot headquarters. Amongst other things, I was treated to the most lovely Guinot facial. The skin therapist who did the facial noticed during the pre-facial skin analysis (made even more obvious with her magnifying glass!) that the area around my eyes was starting to need a little TLC. She recommended trying Longue Vie Yeux, a Guinot eye cream. This was perfect timing for me. Sometimes you know you want to introduce something into your skincare routine but you just don’t know where to start or haven’t got time to look at the different options!

You know how it is, during a facial you lie there resolving to follow all the recommendations, you are going to take better care of your skin, drink more water etc but this time it was different. After the facial, I went on my merry way with my Longue vie yeux feeling radiant and relaxed. The next day, I opened the Longue vie yeux and started using it.

Boy has this been a game changer!

Guinot Longue Vie Yeux is basically a Lifting Eye Cream that is specifically designed to tackle those early signs of ageing. Packed with 56 cellular active ingredients, yes 56! that will stimulate the production of new collagen and protect elastin to firm and regenerate the area around the eyes. Longue vie yeux is designed to reduce early signs of ageing like wrinkles and fine lines and minimise puffiness and shadows around the eyes.

I use it morning and evening after I have applied my moisturiser. You only need a really small amount, a little goes a long way. I just dot on small amount under my eyes and above and gently spread it around my eye sockets. Because of the small amount you use, the pot will last for ages.

The cream is light and silky with a fresh smell. It’s really easily absorbed so I can apply my make-up pretty much straight away which is great.

To be totally honest, the area around my eyes instantly looked better but I noticed the biggest difference after about 2 weeks. The fine lines around my eyes have most definitely reduced and my eyes look and feel fresher.

The biggest difference I have noticed is when I now apply make-up. When you hit your fabulous forties, you notice that make-up can start sitting in the fine lines in the area around your eyes. Using an eye cream stops this happening and actually helps give your make-up a smoother finish. In the Winter your skin is more dehydrated because of central heating so fine lines are more visible. You can easily give your eyes a boost by simply introducing an eye cream.

I have to admit Longue Vie Yeux has become a firm firm favourite with me and has most definitely earned a place in my skincare routine.

Before you apply your eye make-up and concealer this party season, apply an eye cream. Not only will the eye cream hydrate the delicate skin around the eyes and reduce the appearance of fine lines but it will give your make-up a better finish. Trust me, it will make a huge difference!
